Play-by: Henry Cavill
Personality:
- Easy-going. Atticus is a calm, cool, relaxed man that loves to enjoy himself and have some fun with his friends. He's always up for a laugh and rarely turn down an offer to go out for drinks with his mates. His easy-going and friendly nature means he gets along with most people he comes across.
- Courageous. He is very brave, though, some might call him stupid. He seems to be fearless when faced with danger and pain.
- Protective. Though there's few he really cares about, those select few he's very protective of. He'd even lay his life down for them if need be because he can't stand the thought of losing them.
- Disciplined. Even before he enlisted in the army, he was a very disciplined young man due to being brought up by his strict no-nonsense father.
- Level-headed. Although he can be playful and teasing, he's a rather sensible man beneath it all. Atticus doesn't lack in common sense, he is realistic and has a good sense of judgment when it comes to not only situations, but also people.
- Loyal. Atticus is extremely loyal to those who not only have his trust but also trust him. He will always stick by those he cares about. Thick or thin. There's no doubt he'd be there for them.
- Trustworthy. To trust him would not be a decision you'll live to regret. He would never betray another's trust and when it comes to keeping secrets? He wouldn't tell a soul and would take a secret to the grave if asked to.
- Honest. Despite maybe playfully lying, Atticus is a honest man when it comes down to being serious. Although, he's not brutally honest and he will also lie if it meant those around him would be kept out of trouble and danger. He also likes people to be upfront and honest to him to- he'd rather you say something to his face than behind his back.
- Banter. He really does love to playfully exchanging teasing remarks with another person.
- Persistent. Atticus isn't one to give up. Especially not without a solid fight. He'd try, try and try again until he finally acheives whatever he's after. If he is ever forced to give up he remembers what he failed to do, learns from it and uses it to prevent failing again.
- Stubborn. He can be annoyingly stubborn- not one who's mind wold easily be changed if he's decided on something and the only exception to this is his wife- she's the only one who he'd listen to and that could possibly change his mind. Atticus can also be quite close-minded to other people's opinions.
- Argumentative. Sometimes he doesn't realize it himself but sometimes he can cause quite a few silly arguments and will definitely give it back if someone started one with him. Usually they'd be petty, pointless and/or lighthearted but some of those close to him would claim he just argues for the sake of it.
- Adaptable. He is good at adapting to change. He knows it's a part of life and things in his life especially have been constantly changing so he's learnt to quickly adjust, tackle and overcome change.
- Respectful. Atticus was brought up to be polite and respectful to others- especially his elders. Even if someone is disrespectful to him, he won't stoop to their level but what he will do? Never forget and he can hold quite the grudge.
- Unforgiving. Once you lose his trust he won't forgive you again. Whether it because you've betrayed him, angered him, upset him or someone he cares about. Even if you apologize, he might accept the apology but he'd never forgive and forget.

History:
Atticus Killian Delaney was born to strict Irishman William Delaney and his warm-hearted wife Elizabeth Delaney (nee Carey) on March 20th 1985 in Dublin, Ireland. When he was two years old, the small, young family travelled across the sea on a ferry and moved to London, England. Atticus spent the earlier years in his childhood living in a small, dingy, one bedroom apartment- sleeping on a sofa bed at night, the living room being his bedroom until his parents had earned enough money to finally buy a much nicer, two bedroom home.
As a boy, he was quite quiet, slightly over-weight though sweet. However, despite his kind nature, he was bullied due to his peers seeing his kindness as a weakness and weight issue as something to torment him with. Though, as soon as his father found out after seeing some boys pushing him around and after shaking them up a little and threatening him, the bullying soon stopped. After dealing with the bullies William dragged his son by the ear home, yelled at him for ‘letting himself get pushed around’ and smacked him across the head before sending him to his room.
William Delaney was a good man though, cold and seemingly uncaring, his wife, Elizabeth often spoke of how he never knew how to show or express his love and it’d be fair to say that he was very much a ‘tough love’ kind of man- sometimes he could be too tough. Elizabeth soft, warm-hearted and always comforted her son when his father was being tough on him and she always reminded Atticus that no matter what, his father did love him.
Atticus’ father made him start to exercise to lose the puppy fat so that it gave others nothing to bully him over, even when the young boy cried because he found it difficult, William wouldn’t let him stop and barked at him to ‘stop crying, lad’. He set his son a daily routine of exercise, school, homework, chores, and exercise. Sometimes, he was allowed to go out and play with his friends after homework and exercise and he was given weekends but, of course, Atticus hated the routine. But through his dad, Atticus soon became a well-disciplined young man.
During most of his childhood, he was also surrounded by friends of his parents that were too, Irish folk and the majority of them were much more spirited and cheery than his father. It was through them did he hear amusing stories about their antics and small details of how different his dad was when he was younger. These people had a big impact on the young man’s life because through spending time in their company, he picked up their fun-nature and the Irish charm.
When Atticus was fourteen, his mother was diagnosed with cancer and fourteen months later, it took her life. This affected William extremely, he retreated into himself, barely seeming to care about his son and that his son too was grieving. Atticus and William never had the strongest of relationships and there was love there…but, when Elizabeth died their connection and relationship died.
At the age of eighteen, shortly after leaving college, Atticus enlisted in the army but a little bit over a week before a chance meeting happened which in any other circumstance would’ve been an everyday meeting. One day, fancying a change, he walked into a café- one he had never been to before and gave his order to a young, brunette haired girl. Evana Hawkley. Evana was pretty girl, younger than him he was sure of it but that didn’t stop the teen from flirting with her and earning a lovely little smile or two. Though, once he received his order and paid for it, he left.
Now, usually, that would’ve been the end of that story. It would’ve been one of those many small, insignificant meetings you have with people in your everyday life but, that wasn’t the case with these two. Three days after that brief moment in the café, Atticus was walking by the pier when he bumped into the girl at the café. They spoke about how it was a funny coincidence that they just both happened to be at the same place at the same time, they flirted again and Evana showed him some of her amazing drawings and he complimented her talent- of which, he genuinely meant. The two teens clicked. They barely knew each other and yet, for Atticus it felt like they had known each other for more than the few hours they spent together on the pier. He was due to leave for Harrogate in a few days and he didn’t care if Evana had a boyfriend or not, he had no one to send letters to and he was sure that in the environment he would be placed in, he need that kind of connection with someone, so he asked her if he could send her letters. Despite being a complete stranger and a part of him was expecting no…but she said yes. When he left, they sent letters back and forth, she told him things about her life, about herself, sent him drawings and paintings, And although they barely knew each other those few hours they spent at the pier, within months….that was it, he was a gonner. Hook, line and sinker. The idea is a strange one, but when you’ve spent months exchanging letters, telling each other things you wouldn’t usually tell other people but they found solace in confiding in each other and receiving nothing but positivity in return…how could you not fall for them?
When he was on leave, they met up and it was during this time did he kiss her for the first time. A kiss that changed life as he knew it. The two teens began to date then but it wasn't long before Atticus had to return to Keogh Barracks (where he had been training in medical services) before, after finishing all the necessary training, he was sent to Iraq.
After leaving for Iraq they still sent letters to each other and he spent most of his time when on leave with her but after one and a half years Evie's life was turned completely upside down. When he was twenty and she was eighteen, her father was diagnosed with cancer. The very thing that killed Ati's own mum. Atticus tried to comfort her but it was hard to do through words on paper and whenever he spoke to her over the phone he could tell she struggling to cope and she became more and more distant. No matter how much he tried to help her, understandably it all became too much for her and when he was on leave again...she broke up with him. Despite understanding, it didn't lessen the blow and it was only in that moment. That moment he no longer had her, did he realize he loved her. Which is what he tried to remember when he left.
The young man returned to the army. He still kept the letters, she still was in his thoughts on occasion when he was alone in his barracks but other than that he remained focus on his job, taking leave a little as possible though, when he did he met up with a few of his friends, spoke to them, had a laugh and partied.
After six years in the army serving as a combat medic, saving a good few men- friends- lives but also witnessing the deaths of some he knew well...it was tough sometimes. Though, when he was twenty four whilst on a mission with the troops when he was shot in the shoulder- where his bullet proof vest didn't protect him which had him in the hospital for a couple of weeks before he was discharged and set home until he made a full recovery.
He begin to heal slowly but surely and a good few months after the incident he was walking down the streets of London when a young woman approached him. Evana. He never forgot her, of course not, but he did forget how strongly he felt towards her until then, when all the feelings came flooding back to him. They spoke and she apologized- something of which, Atticus told her she didn't need to do...he understood. They exchanged numbers and started talking again, meeting up, reconnecting before they finally started dating again. They were older this time around though, he was twenty five and she was twenty three and it worked even better than it did the first time around. Even after recovering well enough to return to duty, he didn't not only because of Evie but because the years of serving in the army were taking it's toll on him.
It wasn't long before they moved in with each other in an apartment in Covent Garden. Evie had her studio only five minutes away and Atticus had his garage around eight minutes away. It just seemed...perfect. Life seemed perfect. So perfect in fact, that a year later Ati took Evie down to that pier they first spoke. Where they had there coincidental second meeting and as the sun began to set on the horizon, Atticus got down on one knee and proposed to her, presenting her with a simple, but lovely nevertheless ring he had sold one of his motorbikes to buy for her.
And she said yes.
At the time that was the happiest moment in his life to date.
Atticus let Evie plan the wedding with her friends and sister-in-law because as one of Evie friends said to him: "This is the most important day of a bride's life, keep the fuck out Delaney" of course, it was all lighthearted and he just laughed, raising his hands and replied "Yes, ma'am." getting the message loud and clear, but he did give help whenever Evie asked for it.
Then the time came. The big day and oh god, he had never been so nervous in his whole life. He wasn't the type to feel so anxious, but he was only human. He was marrying the woman he loved. Committing to her, promising to share his life with her. He was allowed to be nervous.
When the music played and he heard people turn to see his bride, his heart was hammering in his chest, his palms were sweaty, his mouth was dry. After a couple of calming breaths, he turned and never had he seen anything so blindingly beautiful as Evana walking down the aisle in white. Like an angel.
Yes, his thoughts when written down sound cheesy and cliched but they were the God honest truth. As she walked closer and closer, he did wonder how he had been so lucky? A boy who had an insignificant childhood, brought up in a family that hadn't much money, a family that he pretty much lost managed to find that one person that made his future seem so much brighter. What were the chances? The odds were stacked against him really...but, here he was. Here his soon to be wife was, coming closer and closer.
He was wrong when he first kissed her, that wasn't when life changed. It was the moment he walked into that café nine years ago did his life change as he knew it and that second time at the pier? He had past the point of no return.
The moment she spoke the words "I do." it almost undid him. The moment the priest announced them as man and wife and they sealed it with a kiss...now, that was his new happiest moment in his life so far.
Married life so far for Atticus has been amazing. They're both busy people which works well for them. Ati works 37.5 hours a week, having some days off but when working being kept on his feet and whilst he's working, Evie also works on her art in her studio. Usually, on finishing his shift no matter what the time is Ati always ends up going to her studio rather then straight home because he knows the likelihood of her being there is very possible and usually, he'll bring food, knowing that she gets so caught up she forgets the world around her and doesn't even realize how hungry she is. Once or twice, on his late night to early morning shift he had gone to the studio, only to find her asleep, covered in paint and he's carried her home and tucked her into bed.
Though, they do bicker on occasion, argue about silly things as all couple in healthy relationships do, but they always end up kissing and making up.
At the moment, life had been ideal for Atticus.
